As my dad in England said today ‘McCain is a true gentleman’…….good effort but I don’t think anyone could have won against Obama.
Poodles still for McCain
McCain is a great patriot but the numbskulls that were calling the shots during the campaign should be fragged!!
Hey, here’s a good idea, take an excellent governor, throw her on the national stage and then let her start giving interviews without being adequately prepared with the worst possible media snakes around instead of starting out in friendlier venues like talk radio or Fox News and working her way into tougher territories.
Also, I saw so many Obama ads on TV that were positive–the acoustic guitar, the sun-washed photos, the smiling candidates. Most of McCains ads, at least the ones that I saw, were attack ads. The American people has shown again and again that they DO NOT RESPOND TO NEGATIVE ADS!! You need only look at the last four presidential elections.
I truly feel he could have won-on the issues no less, if someone had presented the case properly.
Obama is my president-elect no matter what, so I’ll support him anyway.
The sad fact is this… no matter who wins any election, there are always those
factions behind the candidates that throw their weight around to influence the
President. Consider the money raised to run the campaigns… a record amount this
year, in the billions. The contributors give their money willingly enough, because they
know that they’ll have ‘favors’ to ask for later. How easy is it to disregard what the
lobbyists demand, when they contributed hundreds of thousands (or millions!) to get
you into office? The seamier side of politics still exists, no matter who the face is
out front.
I voted for Obama.
For one reason and one reason only.
McCain’s poor choice in VP.
I totally would’ve voted for McCain if it wasn’t for Palin.
If McCain would croak (I know its mean but…), I would not want my country run by a “hockey mom”.
“I would not want my country run by a “hockey mom”.
How is just being a “hockey mom” inferior? Explain that to the rest of the hockey moms out there. Aside from Palin, I bet there are a few hockey moms that are incredibly capable of being president. You voted for a lawyer. Lawyers aren’t typically very well liked either, but out of 44 presidents, 26 were lawyers. Maybe a hockey mom is the kind of change we need.
What I don’t understand is that for the last couple of decades, out of the millions of natural born citizens old enough to be president, how do we end up with nothing but mediocre choices? There has got to be someone better than what we’re given.
Good call Scott!! I live in Alaska, Palin is my governor and I’ll take a leader like her any day. No offense to Amanda, but do you honestly think as governor she just sat around and did her nails or something. She has done an amazing job for the citizens of Alaska and instead redistributing wealth from successful people to not-so-successful people, she slapped it to the super-rich oil companies and gave every man, woman and child in the state a $1200.00 fuel bonus on top of our normal oil dividend, which this year was $2000.00
This is the way to help out families, take money from the obscene amount of profits that the oil companies make and give some of it back to the folks! Palin is a savvy leader who has been depicted in the media as an idiot. (I consider myself very much in the know when it comes to politics and I never heard of the Bush doctrine.)
Kudos also to Danna, a very insightful and oh-so-true statement!
The CHANGE we need, was never about a man making empty promises and selecting a running-mate who NO one could relate to, let alone trust to be their commander in chief; the CHANGE we need was always within ourselves, to bring back the ideals/hopes/dreams of what this country was founded on.
The CHANGE is giving people who felt that for the past x number of years their vote didn’t matter since not one of the last 43 presidents looked like them.
The CHANGE is in the way we have affected the rest of the world over the past 8 years and how they see a brighter future and hope.
The CHANGE is when you can see a DIVERSE crowd of AMERICANS gathered around a candidate all striving to a common goal.
No one knows what Obama’s CHANGES are or how they will affect us.
Many CAN relate to Palin’s values.
Obama is NOT serving based on values this country was founded on.
Palin doesn’t look like the last 43 presidents either (44 if you count McCain as president and passing on).
8 years ago something quite significant happened to this country that changed the world. Clinton had the knowledge of bin Laden and his capabilities but did nothing. If Clinton or Bush did capture bin Laden BEFORE 9-11, Americans would be crying to let him go, he didn’t do anything to us! Just like they did for Saddam. The world knew what Saddam was capable of. The citizens of Iraq hated Saddam and the U.S. knew he had to give up power. It’s unfortunate that Saddam didn’t voluntarily change his ways or voluntarily go and that a Western power took him out, but he’s gone and the world is better for that. Now, to rebuild a working government in Iraq is obviously taking time, more time than is comfortable, but the tyrant that ran Iraq isn’t a threat anymore. Bush and the American troops aren’t there mass-killing hundreds of thousands of citizens, and they aren’t testing the world with WMDs, they are there to assist the new government in its infancy. What’s Obama going to do with Iran? He’ll let it simmer for 4-8 years and either let Ahmadinejad act aggresively or wait for the next pres to handle it after letting it simmer to a boil.
Crowds don’t mean a candidate is the best choice. Many poor leaders had crowds.
Amanda voted for 2 lawyers. One a guy who’s been in state house and US House but voted ‘present’ more than ‘yes’ or ‘no’, didn’t introduce legislation (but wrote 2 biographies!) and spent 20 years in a racist church, letting his kids grow up to “God damn America!” The other lawyer on the ticket is more daft and demented than any public official in recent memory (including the ones I know you are programmed to point out.)
But Amanda didn’t vote for who she claims she wanted to because there was a governor on the ticket who had kids that played hockey! Even tho that governor had won by defeating the incumbant guv (of her own party) in the primary, and won the general handily. And even tho she had approval ratings ranging from 68% to 93%…the most popular governor in America.
If only the Governor’s kids hadn’t played that hockey, she could’ve gotten Amanda’s vote!
“God DAMN hockey!!!”

Thank you for understanding.
McCain would have received my vote if it wasn’t for Palin.
And since I do not want Palin “in charge” I choose Obama.
It probably wasn’t the brightest move I’ve ever made, but I did it and it is done.
Can’t change it now.
Sorry, dude, you ran a decent race, but this was not the time to run on the president’s coattails.
Yea he gave it a good fight but us Conservatives just never really supported him,I hope the Republican party will learn from this
Johnny Mac is still my HomeBoy
John didn’t lose last night, America did!

Impeach Obama.

The poll results said it all.
Yea look who Obama picked for his chief of staff GMAFB! thats some “change” that guy has been around since the Clintons
