Someone asked if my stats had changed much recently. It doesn’t appear that they have changed much. Traffic always drops over the weekend, which tells me quite a few people view B&P at work.
I use two different stats packages. One is a plugin for WordPress called WordPress.com Stats. Here is it’s report for the last 30 days. It’s supposed to show page views. Each new day starts at 7 pm CST for some reason with this package.
I also use StatCounter. It gives me more details. Here is its report for approximately the same period. It shows quite a different number of page loads which I assume are page views. I don’t know why they are so different.
WOW! I thought there were only about 20-30 people that read this blog, so after 75 of them left this week, I figured you’d have to fold up the tent. Those are great numbers!!
I wonder, does either of those stat counters count the people who read your webpage from their rss feed through google reader??
Hmmm, I use sitemeter. It gives me averages, page views, visits, locations, ISPs, all sorts of things a successful stalker needs.
how many are the pissed off ones that say they wont be back because its a “racist” site
They should add a stat for the ‘number of people offended’ 🙂
and hit.
Nice stats! A lot of visitors, and also a good returning visitor ratio.
The next question would be, how many Search Engine (SE) hits to you get daily? 🙂
Google Analytics also gives some very good stats, and it’s free. Absolutely worth trying.
Also check out Google Webmaster tool for SE stats.
And don’t forget to make regular backups of both the files and the database.
The PC police are such a bunch of hypocrites this election. If you make a racist joke, you are evil. If you make an ageist joke, you are funny.
You know what, funny is funny, and laughing at something funny doesn’t make you a bigot.
That being said, I didn’t find the Obama pic funny or interesting.
I have two pieces of advice. 1) The author of this blog should try to be more funny. 2) The people offended by a failed joke should lighten the hell up.
This blog has been significantly more anti McCain/Palin than anti Obama/Biden. Obviously the author is not biased against Obama.

perhaps one report is unique page views/loads and the other is not?

The “unique visiters” stats of Statcounter are slightly less than your WordPress stats. This suggests that WordPress is also showing the “unique visiters”. The difference can be caused by the time-settings that make a visiter *unique*.
In Statcounter, you can set this time-setting. If it’s set to for example 5 hours, than a 6 hour subsequent visit of the same visitor will be counted as a new visit. If the subsequent visit is less than 5 hours, than it will be seen as the same visit.
