This probably won’t mean much to most of you, but I remember it well as a member of the first generation growing up with television in St. Louis. This is primarily about Texas Bruce, the host of a locally produced television show for children in St. Louis.
Thanks Mac
Many cities had a childhood hero. Denver had Blinky the Clown, who was on KWGN channel 2 for years, and who also had an antique store on S. Broadway in Denver. Also, when I was growing up in Indianapolis, Sammy Terry hosted scary movies on independent Channel 4, WTTV, in the 1960’s. All these heroes meant so much to us kids as we grew up. Too bad we don’t have such role models today. Oh well, such pleasant memories!!
I was on “Cookie and the Captain” with my cubscout pack in the early 60s
