Riding to Milwaukee – Part II

Forecast Milwaukee2The forecast hasn’t changed and it looks like rain all weekend all the way up and back.  So, being the wimp I am, I’m taking my car.  The two other guys are taking their bikes…. and the girls are going to ride with me.

Life is good!

Thanks for the suggestions on placed to go… and not go.   If you have any more, I’ll be checking here later.

Have a good weekend… and y’all be careful out there.

  1. Hey Jonco… AKA Infidel…lol Your the Man!!! sounds like you make the best choice… rain and bikes sucks…however rain gear is nice if you get caught in the rain… and pays for itself the first time you use it, although it can still melt on your motorcycle exhaust real fast if your not careful. plus most bikes hydroplane on the freeway around 55mph… or greater… especially ones with ruts or interstates… back road high ways are safer if you have to ride in the rain… Have a Great Trip…

  2. If you’re planning on seeing Chicago’s lakefront on LSD (on Lake Shore Drive, that is), you can take 55, which dead-ends right into it. I’d go south down past Hyde Park, make a U-turn, then back up, through downtown, and up the north side. Great scenery!

(trying to catch LSD on the south end would take you through too many bad neighborhoods).

  3. PS- The museum of Science and Industry and the incredible gothic campus of the University of Chicago are two “must see” things in Hyde Park, both reached by Lake Shore Drive by the directions above. Follow the signs.

  4. If the girls who would have ridden on the back of the bikes are now with you in the car, do they still wrap their arms around your chest while you drive like when you’re on the bike?
