  2. I’m 28 and I only missed “Good night, Chet” and doubted myself on the Peter Pan question, because I knew that Pan’s traditionally been played by women, but I thought Flynn might’ve done it in a version I never saw…then I remembered that it wasn’t Julie Andrews that played Pan, and I knew it was Mary Martin. 🙂

    Fun test!

  3. Age 35 and 20/20 on this, but I couldn’t tell you the name of a single song in the billboard top 40 or what’s on TV tonight.

  4. >5. I am 24. It helps to be born in the USA, i guess. Also, none of these questions are in my field of interest.

    Ah well.

  5. 20/20 I’m 48
Used process of elimination to get Peter Pan, knew it couldn’t be Doris Day and Sally Fields is too young. Only knew Maynard G.Krebbs because some game show did a Dobie Gillis reunion week in the 70’s.

  6. 20/20 and nowhere near 60. Got the Pogo one because I’ve seen it quoted elsewhere, but never read the comic either.

  7. Perfect-o and I’m close to 70. I was feeling good till I saw all the young’ns who did pretty darned good. WTG to everyone 🙂

  8. IIRC, the #3 Pogo qeustion should be “We has met the enemy, and . . ..”

And #17 should be “I wonder, wonder, wonder, wonder who . . ..”

    I’m just sayin’.

  9. 18/20. 39 years old here and I spent way too much time in front of the radio and tv in my youth.

Totally missed on Wonder Bread and although I had heard the Pogo line before, I doubted myself. After that they got easier.

  10. 12/20 and I’m 20…I didn’t know a lot of the actor/ athletes/ older TV references. I can’t believe I missed the wonder bread one!

  11. Awesome! I only missed one, and I am 35. It was the Pogo one. 🙂 That was fun, I sent it on to all the “older” people in my life.

  12. On #11 it was actually Jerry Rubin who told us not to trust anyone over the age of 30, not Bob Dylan. Even if Dylan had said that no would have been able to understand what he said anyway.

I answered 20/20. Does this make me old or a good candidate to win bar bets?

  13. 17/20 and 50.

ThyKing: “Also, none of these questions are in my field of interest.” – But, but, this is TELEVISION. It’s everyone’s interest!

  14. 19/20 and I’m 48. That danged Pogo must be a regional cartoon; it’s
not carried in my area, but I’ve seen it occasionally while traveling.
You younger folks that missed a few, don’t worry about it! It’s just
a quiz about things that were in the general collective, part of everyday
life in an earlier time. Commercial jingles and ads got drilled into your brain
back then, just like today. Think ahead 40 years from now… if you were
answering a quiz about things back in the ’90’s or the 2000’s, there
there might be questions about the Geico Insurance characters (a Gecko and
cavemen), or trend setting media (IPod and Wii), or who played the Joker
in the Dark Knight (Heath Ledger). The youngsters 40 or 50 years from now
will have to guess on their quiz too!

  15. John,
I don’t remember Ray Anthony at all. I was about 9 then so I’m sure I should remember him. Maybe he was on the same time Bonanza was on and I never saw it.. because we ALWAYS watched Ben, Hoss, Adam and Little Joe and of course Hop Sing every Sunday night. And “in living color”.
TV was sure different in those days.
Thanks for the link. I enjoyed it.
    Jonco

  16. [Actually “Peter Gunn” was written by Henry Mancini, and “Dragnet” was written by somebody named Miklos Rozsa–but I’d be willing to bet you’ve heard the Ray Anthony covers more often than any other.]

  17. 20 out of 20 and I’m 39. It helped that I grew up watching old movies, shows, game shows & listening to doo whop music thanks to my father and aunt. thank god for all the useless information!! : )
