  1. mongo – they do when they get too close to opposing polarities. However, if they’re just sitting on one wire, no problem.

  2. I saw one like this about 9 years ago at Top Gun (one of the worlds biggest R/C meets then held at the Wellington Polo Field outside Boca Raton FL)

    A guy with a 8ft wingspan Japanese Zero had an engine failure and went down across the power lines gonig into the stadium. Massive sparks and the power failed as the metal sking touched the lines.

    When they brought the plane back there were massive burn marks on the leading edges of the wings.

    BTW: Top Gun is now held at Lakeland FL airport outside Orlando… if you’re in Florida in April, go see it; it’s an incredible show….
