Talk about German efficiency! The photo was taken at a new parking garage in Munich . The actual space that the facility occupies is approximately only 20% of a comparable facility with the traditional design that is used primarily in the US . Not only is the German structure less expensive to build, but vehicles are also ‘retrieved’ in less time and without the potential of being damaged by an attendant.
Update: I’ve been informed by B&P readers that this is not a regular garage, but a storage facility (garage) at the Volkswagen factory where cars are stored after they’re built. More info here and here. It’s pretty cool, nonetheless.
Thanks Gene
This is actually a volkswagen factory. Not a residential garage.

looks like something from the deathstar
Women drivers reversing out onto the lift platform…. hmmm….
This is Volkswagen warehouse, where you can take your ordered new car directly from there.
Fascinating. This could be a course in learned adaptation. The concept could be applied in businesses other than warehouse storage.
