And, even tho, if you look at any sun clock, the line the shadow follows is quite realistic, and of course the sun does rise in the east, meaning darkness approaches from the east as well (so it is late afternoon in England, early evening in Italy), that doesn’t change the fact that it’s fake. Sam is correct…the giveaway is the cloudlessness, the visible ocean floor, and the fact that it wouldn’t be possible photographically to get the bright sunlight and the city lights in one exposure.

Fake… Europe, especially the UK is never cloudless. Plus you can see the ocean floor and it should be just a reflection.
Since the sun rises in the East, this must surely be incorrect. The westerly regions should be in darkness and the easterly ones in daylight.
