I miss Anne .
Yep. Pretty worried.
I have tried to find any info regarding Anne, but I could not find any news article or obit for anyone named Anne in her hometown, so I had to give up the search without having a last name.
Maybe jonco might know it from her email address
I did a little research and don’t have a last name, just Anne S. I have an email address and an IP address but nothing more. I sent a message to the email address I had but never received a response. I don’t know what else to do.
I don’t know how close you have her physical address, and am thinking you could try finding her location through her IP address, I have result about 10 miles out with my IP address, if she lives in a rural area, it might be closer. Here are the two websites that gave me the closest match:
http://www.liveipmap.com
http://geobytes.com/IpLocator.htm
From there, I guess you have to search the local regional town papers, if possible.
She had mentioned one time that she lived in Coldwater, Michigan. I’ve checked with the local paper, but they don’t have any info on an Anne S.
Not sure what happened to OUR MAYOR.
But I sure do miss her.
Anne S. sure made it a little bit more special here.
Scott came up with the church she attended for 50 years. I’ve contacted them and am waiting to hear back from them.
How in the heck did Scott find the church that she attended???
it was in a comment she posted. That man should be a detective.
I just received the following response from the church:
Jon,
Sorry, but I don’t know who Anne S. might have been. Being the researcher I am, I went to your website and read through quite a few posts on the open mic area. From what I can see, Anne must have been a member a while ago. She mentions Monroe, but mostly by ‘hometown.’ I would be more inclined to note that her references to living in western Michigan, an area 15 miles from the Indiana border, would be closer to where she is now. I’m sorry that I can’t be more help. I will mention her and her specifics (husband in the Air Force, truck driver, etc) to a few of our other cradle St. Michael parishioners to see if it rings a bell. Good luck in your search. I hope she is just under the weather.
DeeDee
Well, that’s just one person. Maybe she’ll ask around the church and will find someone who knows Anne. Thanks for taking the time to contact the church.
Unfortunately, I just found this in the Monroe newspaper. It mentions Coldwater, Monroe, and the church. She once posted a comment that she delivered flowers when she was younger, but it says her husband died less than a year ago which I don’t recall. What does everyone think?
http://www.monroenews.com/news/2013/feb/06/anne-e-schroeder/
Edit: I did find where she said her husband died at that time.
I do know her husband did die recently.
I’m sure that’s her. She talked about working with animals and bowling too I believe. That’s a shame. May she rest in peace.
We all owe Scott our heartfelt thanks finding this info and sharing it. Although it isn’t the news we’d hoped to hear just knowing is better than not knowing. Thanks Scott.
Yikes Jonco, look at your reply to Ted here just days after Anne’s passing:

That has to be her, there are too many things that match. I agree with Jonco. It’s good to know although it’s not what I wanted to hear. I haven’t been on here long but Anne was ready to accept me into this little neighborhood and I really appreciated that. She will be missed.
The last comment on this page sums it up.
http://bitsandpieces.us/2012/06/14/what-did-you-want-to-be-when-you-grew-up/
Reading her last comments, here’s one more clue that it’s her… The obituary birth date is Dec. 4 and on Dec. 5 she mentioned she just turned another year older which was the day she drove into her garage door on her way to an appointment. Failing to open the garage door on the way to an appointment could indicate she had something serious and distracting on her mind at the time. Her last comment here seems to be only 9 days later. She must have had a serious medical issue, possibly diabetes related if not something worse, that put her in the nursing home after that.
Sad Day. She mentioned no grand kids and that fits also. fast journeys and clear skies for you Anne hope to meet you in person when that angel brings me home also.
Thank you, though, Scott, for finding this for us.
Jonco, I think it’s safe to say that you and the readers of B&P made Anne’s last few lonely months a lot more fun for her. She was obviously devastated by the loss of her husband, but she still had her friends here at B&P. She took her “mayoral” job fairly seriously, and you could actually see her grow more comfortable with the job, as she was forced to deal with the baiting and insults from one classless commenter. She quickly learned to give as good as she got, and she was pretty proud of herself. With Anne, as well as a lot of others on your site, B&P is an important part of the day, and sometimes is even a lifeline.
It’s been said so many times before, but we’re a little big global family here on B&P, and what affects one of us affects so many more of us. B&P brings so much happiness, and once in a while much sadness. RIP, Madam Mayor.
Well said DJ. I was thinking the same about how she took on the role of Mayor and how B&P is an important part of the day and lives of many people, but as usual you said it so much better than I could. She’s now with her ‘Guardian Angel’ husband. Rest in peace, Anne.
Well said DJ, Well said!
It seems that “you know who” will have to find someone else to insult…
Oh this is such sad news. I so looked forward to reading about her varied activities, the change of seasons in Michigan and proudly taking her post as Mayor here. She was very kind, caring & encouraging when my hubby was in the hospital. Though only knowing her here, I will miss her updates & sunny musings. May she rest in peace….
Thanks Scott for finding out this info even though its not want we wanted to hear.
DJ- That was very well said and I so agree
This is very sad news and I will miss her
RIP Anne S
Very sweet and kind words here for our Mayor Anne. What a little sweetheart she was. My heart is heavy after reading the news. Rest in Peace Brave Lady.
Frist in our prayers, Your Honor, and lsat.
If I could “like” or “+1″ a comment, I would.
That is really, really nice, Paul. Thank you for sharing it.
Just not the same without her.
Ya done good.
Our special Mayor Anne made this.
Jonco, you really made a fantastic choice of appointing our Anne with this honor. I’ve read back, and she really enjoyed this.
I agree Bella, Its not the same without our Lady Mayor.
Thanks. It was a simple easy choice. She is missed.
I just got word that Deborah was in an accident in Tuscon, where she lives. Her boyfriend Chris was driving and their car was T-boned. She is in the hospital in a lot of pain and is being evaluated because of some internal swelling. Her friend Chris suffered some minor cuts but is going to be OK.
Many thoughts and prayers are headed her way.
get better soon Deb and Chris.
Please keep us posted…
California is a lovely place to live. Except the earthquakes.
Those are not earthquakes thats just you a collective grown from all the smart people in California every time Sen. Feinstein gets up to speak .
stay safe.
Her and Maxine Waters compare notes on how to be stupid just before they speak to the media.
Get better soon Deb and Chris
Well, my NCAA basketball bracket is already destroyed, thanks to New Mexico and UNLV. Harvard????

R.I.P.
Hey, not so fast, I have something to say!! After weeks and weeks of being scared and nearly quitting flying after my accident, I finally managed to get my confidence back, and yesterday I got my hang 1 certification! Now I’m going to start my mountain lessons!
An accident? I’m glad you’re okay. Congratulations on the certification!
YAY! Congratulations!
OMG. The Texas explosion. I know that OurChick#1 lives in that neck of the woods. We sure get to know each other and care a whole bunch, for each other, through your website Jonco. Thank You.
Does anyone know how Jose is doing?
Would you both please check in. <3
I was thinking the same thing Cheryl. I sometimes feel after reading about different things you all do that we are all like a big family sharing things.
Jonco reported the other day that Jose is fine.
Jose commented on the Weekend Open Mic page that all is well in Boston.
I hope everyone is having a fantastic day then. So much turmoil in the world these days but we take a lickin’ and keep on tickin’. The very best to you all today and everyday.
I have a question for our members who live in England. On a TV show last night, a young lady pronounced “urinal” as “u-rhine-all”. Is that the customary pronunciation in England?
I have it on good authority (my boyfriend, who is from England), that it is pronounced “YOU-rhinal”, with a short “i” sound.
I’ve heard a Brit pronounce it like this: PISS’ er.
Yup, that’s how we pronounce it too.
Or as Archie Bunker said: Terlet.
Your Archie Bunker reference made me laugh so loud! Brought back memories of my father, a man of few laughs, shaking his head and laughing at that character. Thanks for reminding me.
Hey, how is everybody doing out there? I’m back to being a working woman and it still sucks. Can’t believe I was so nervous to be back in the work force but I’ve never worked in retail before. I get pretty tuckered out but I’ll be smiling with my first pay cheque. I hope everyone is doing well.
Congratulations, Bella!! Hopefully the people you work with will be nice, and you’ll be able to enjoy yourself some at work. And money is always good…
Thank you hcmom, I was only off work when I took sick. It feels good to get back out there.
And they are a great crew that I work with. Funny, funny people.
Love seeing the pictures of you hcmom doing your thing.
Don’t think I’m that brave. Good on ya!
I am also back to work as a volunteer at a local hospital. I was so bored being a couch potato before, so it has been great getting out of the house for two-three afternoons a week.
That’s wonderful, Richard. Kudos. During my hubby’s hospital stays, the volunteers were wonderful to both of us whether we needed to know where the coffee was, cafeteria times, finding out surgery statuses, where to get records… really helpful all around. You’ll be much appreciated, even if you may not hear it.
Congrats Bella, Welcome back to the workforce.
Yay! Congrats on your new job! Retail needs your happy spirit — oh, and do you have 2 of these in a size 6 (I’m a 12 so I can still say I’m “wearing a 6.”)
Thank you. Good for you too Richard. I did some volunteer work at the cancer clinic here but economic times made me look for a paying job. When I get to go to part-time at the paying job, I’ll probably do some more volunteer work there. It makes you feel good and I love the people.
My wife and I are suckers for stray animals to the point that we have three stray dogs and one stray cat. About a week and a half ago, my wife spotted a skinny, dirty Pitbull wandering down the road in front of our home. Of course she took him in, but even though he is sweet and gets along with the other animals, we just can’t take on another fur friend right now. We’ve contacted several no-kill shelters, but none will take a stray directly. I’ve talked to the director of our county pound and he was straight with me and said that nobody is adopting Pits. I am also in contact with Mike Firesmith to see if he has any suggestions. I really need to do something within the next few days. Wish me and the fur friend lots of luck…
It finally came down to a choice of keeping the dog, which isn’t possible, or sending him to the pound. The animal control officer just left with the dog a few minutes ago, and I feel like crap…
I will be attending a wedding next week that will include a bouncy house, and possibly a few men in kilts. Do you suppose there’s a need for a tumblr of men wearing kilts in bouncy houses?
