  1. I heard that you can tell a happy motorcyclist because they have bugs in their teeth–I guess the helmet hides that.

  2. Gotta be the midges, currently bugging the shorelines of Lake Erie, and I imagine most of the Great Lakes. I’ve had the front of my car and my windshield look like that driving from Buffalo to Cleveland. And no matter how many are smashed on the glass – DON’T use your squirters or it’s all over. You may – MAY – be able to see enuf to pull off to the side of the road. And you better soak and vigorously wash your car very soon or they’ll be fossilized on your paint.

    They don’t bite, only live a couple days, but the swarms are around for a few weeks every spring and hang within about 1/2 mile of the Lake. They breed in the shallows and it supposedly means a healthy lake.

    Look up on YouTube the Bug Game betw the Yankees and Indians back in 2007 at the stadium on the lakefront. The midges brought Cleveland a win.
