    • It’s amazing how people react to a photo of a theoretical premise but can’t accept what is happening right under their noses, even when it has actual scientific data to prove it.

  1. False equivalencies are false.

One is a directly-observable, testable, falsifiable arm of science. The other is a result of predictions modeled by a computer using incomplete data.

Neil Degrasse Tyson should know better.

    • Wrong!!! The predictions modeled by a computer are made based on FACTS that exist from directly-observable, testable arm of science. Besides, not only have the predictions been proven to be true, they have underestimated the time frame of destruction that is happening before our eyes.

YOU are exactly who Degrasse Tyson is speaking about.

    • Climate change is based on scientific evidence. Deniers only deny because it does not comport to their belief system.

    • First of all, the guy is not even a scientist.
But’s let’s debunk a few of his statements:

      “The sun is getting cooler.”
In the last 35 years of global warming, sun and climate have been going in opposite directions.

      “It’s actually getting cooler”
Empirical measurements of the Earth’s heat content show the planet is still accumulating heat and global warming is still happening. Surface temperatures can show short-term cooling when heat is exchanged between the atmosphere and the ocean, which has a much greater heat capacity than the air.

“We’re headed for an ice age”
Rest assured, there is no ice age around the corner. To those with lingering doubts that an ice age might be imminent, turn your eyes towards the northern ice sheets. If they’re growing, then yes, the 10,000 year process of glaciation may have begun. However, currently the Arctic permafrost is degrading, Arctic sea ice is melting and the Greenland ice sheet is losing mass at an accelerating rate. These are hardly good conditions for an imminent ice age.

While not a quote, he insinuates humans are too insignificant to affect global climate, relying on that it’s just a cycle
Atmospheric CO2 levels are rising by 15 gigatonnes per year. Humans are emitting 26 gigatonnes of CO2 into the atmosphere. Humans are dramatically altering the composition of our climate.

It’s blatant ignorance to ignore or dismiss that the billions of people on this planet, along with the massive amounts of crap we dispose of on and into this earth has no affect on anything whatsoever. If you believe that, I dare to park your car in your garage with a full tank of gas, make sure the garage is sealed tight, open your windows and turn on your engine. Until you do that, you have no place to claim that humans make no difference.
