Weekend Open Mic

Weekend open mic

Forecast jan11Weather: What a difference a week makes.  Last weekend the St. Louis area was hit with anywhere from 9 to 15 inches of snow.  Most of that is still around but this weekend we’re hit with warmer weather.  40’s (F) for Saturday and into the 50’s on Sunday.  We got a lot of rain on Friday which helped a little bit on the snow covered sidewalks and streets but there are still plenty of mounds of snow around.  Hopefully some of that will be gone after the weekend.

B&P Sunday Morning Chat:  Someone brought up that we haven’t had a good neighborhood chat in quite a while.  So, I’ll be in the B&P Chatroom Sunday morning about 10 am CST (my time).  If you’re around and care to join us please do.  You can click the link above or find the link in the left sidebar right above the Categories list.  Hope to see you there.

Busy Busy:  I’m beginning to think I’ll ALWAYS be busy.  There just seems to be something pressing that I need to deal with or work on in the near future.  I have two trivia nights coming up in the next several weeks along with a few other obligations and commitments I’ve made.  I guess I can slow down and rest when I die.

I still want to deal with the issue of the star ratings plugin that isn’t acting just right and a few other things but they keep getting put on the back burner.

That’s it from B&P Headquarters in St. Louis. What’s going on in your world?

Tis the weekend! Was a hard work week. Winding down by watching classic Doctor Who. I’m on the third Doctor. Looking forward to the new season. New season, new Doctor. Drinking Bloody Marys (Maries?) as I watch. Actually, I’m calling this a bloody clot since I ran out of tomato juice and made it out of tomato paste. Interesting experience. Bloody smoothie? Also looking forward to Sunday, when San Diego whips the Donkeys’ asses, and then we go on to take over the world! Bwaaa haa hah ha!!! Yeah… I’m on my third bloody clot. I’m so exited i’m even wearing a bolo. Word is, if the Chargers go all the way this bolo thing could get the same cult status as Jim McMahon’s headband. I miss the 80’s.

Awesome!! A fellow Whovian, I’ve been watching the older ones starting with the 9th Doctor, now I’m on the 10th, I’ve never watched the classic Who, but it’s on my list. My Aunt tells me my grandmother watched those when I was a kid.

I also started with the 9th Doctor. The revived series pretty much got the whole she-bang going again, brought in a lot of us Americans. I’m all caught up now so I went back to the beginning to see how the whole thing started. Unfortunately a lot of the earliest episodes are missing but there is audio. Some folk are doing their darnedest to reconstruct those shows. Here’s another link to them. I’d say my favorite episodes, of the 2005 series, have been ‘Blink’, the ‘Human Nature/The Family of Blood’ two-parter (10th Doctor), and ‘Vincent and the Doctor’ (11th Doctor).

My favorite one so far has also been the don’t blink episode. I’ll never look at stone angels the same way.
I watched an episode of the Graham Norton Show where he had both David Tennant and Matt Smith as guests. Emma Thompson was also on, she handed them both a banana as they came to sit down. Hilarious.
Thanks for the link, I’ll be using that for sure.

  • I’ve spent the last 2 weeks moving all my wordpress sites into a single multisite installation, and it’s been a bit of a hassle, but worth it in the end to only have a single install of wordpress controlling my entire web empire.

    muwhahahahah

Here’s another link to the 2005 Doctor Who: http://www.free-tv-video-online.me/internet/doctor_who_%282005%29/
And thanks Kevin for the link to Watch Series. An alternative source is always good. :-)

Travelling to Hauppauge, NY, next week for business. I am glad the Polar Vortex is not forecast to reappear.

After freezing last week 29 degrees for 4 hours in ST. Augustine Florida was too much. You all need to keep that cold up north.
But it’s a penalty for me, the kids called the week before with 7 degrees and 7 inches of snow (Marionville MO) and I laughed cause it was 70 and sunny here.

Temp this am at 6:30 was 63, so went golfing and loved it. Now the heavy rain and tornado watch…….. I’m in Florida, where is the sun???

    Chat was fun!

I enjoyed chat. Maybe next time the rest of us can do sound and video.

I enjoyed chat too. Pity I couldn’t see any of you except Jonco. I was using my daughters old laptop which needs the screen replacing. That’s why the screen was dark and kept cutting out.
