Weekend Open Mic

Weekend open mic

Weather: It looks like we’re getting back into typical summer weather here in St. Louis.  There’s a chance of afternoon showers every day.

Forecast july 6

Blogging:  I’ve had some issues with my blogging software (Blogjet) this past week.  After some trial and error I’ve determined that the problem only arises when (and after) I post a YouTube video, so I think YouTube has changed something that makes it pretty much incompatible with my software.  It will eventually post (after a 30 or 40 second delay) but then the blogging software doesn’t work right.  I have to restart it to get it to work properly.  Everything else seems to work OK.  There is a newer version of Blogjet that I tried a while back but really didn’t like as much as the old version.  So, I paid $20 for the upgrade and figured I’d just have to get used to it.  But it didn’t work right with YouTube videos either and I still don’t like it as much as the old version.

So then I messed with a completely different blog client (Blog Desk), but I wasn’t crazy about it either.  I ended up using the built-in WordPress editor most of the week but it doesn’t have some of the features I’m used to with Blogjet.  After messing around some more I’ve decided to go back to the original Blogjet for most of the posting but I’ll use the WordPress built-in editor for YouTube posts.

That’s pretty much all that’s been going on around here.  What’s going on in your world?

  • effing hot here in Connecticut. However, not too hot to search for the holy grail, so off I go.. I recently posted some verses to the Star Spangled Banner that you never hear. No, they’re not parody lyrics, but the 3rd and 4th verses.

You lost me at “blogging software”.

Well, something has to makes these separate little posts appear on this page… and make the pages too. :-)

Almost every time I check out an app to potentially download and read the reviews first, the most common comment is something like, “WTF, this was working great now it ……. ”

Never be an early buy in. Let the geeks stumble with the teething problems of an “upgrade”.

Personally, I’ve skipped every other Windows upgrade. Anyone remember 95, 2000, ME, Vista?

Windows 8 seems like a good one to skip too. :-)
