I have a folder that contains every image I’ve put on my websites since the crash of April 2010. So as of this moment I have 25, 513 images taking up 4.96 GB of hard disk space. Yes, I am rich indeed.

I hope for your sake you have that hard drive backed-up!
I basically save the images in order to limit the repeat posts because I easily forget posting something so when I save it (hopefully with the same name as before) I’ll see it and know I’ve already posted it.
