I find this photo a little disingenuous. I mean, yes, you can play movies and music on your phone or ipod, which fits in your pocket. However, you still can’t fit a CD player, cassette player, VCR, or 8-track in your pocket. I get the point and it is amazing that what used to take all of these huge machines to do we can now put all in one tiny device, but still…
Also, isn’t that a typewriter on the right? If so, phones and ipods can’t print things out in the same way.
The only thing I see disingenuous is that variety of music recording media there are (cassette, microcassette, 8-track, and CD). I think only one needed to be shown. And maybe only one set of headphones were needed, too. Heck, even just showing a few of those things would drive the point home (that during the last score of years, electronics have shrunk enough that one little device can record/play music and movies, etc.).
And with the right app, you can print from your iThing and maybe some other smartphones. Of course, you would have to have a network printer that can be accessed via your wireless network, though.
I’m sorry, that’s kind of what I meant about the CD player and whatnot. Maybe I would’ve liked it better if instead of saying “all of these THINGS” it said something more like “you can do all the same stuff” or something like that.
And sure, I know that you can set up wireless printing, but you still need a printer, which wouldn’t fit in your pocket.
