Weekend Open Mic

Weekend open mic

Weather:  While we’re experiencing moderate temperatures for February (highs in the 40s and 50s) the Northeastern part of the U.S. is experiencing record snowfalls.  Let’s just hope the power lines stay up for the folks there.

Websites:  Things are back to normal for the most part now and have been for almost a whole week.  A couple people were having trouble getting the pages to show up.  If you’re one of them, and I’m not sure how you’re reading this if you are, you need to clear your browser’s cache and things should work.

Back to normal:  I’m always saying that after this or that, things will be “back to normal”.  I’ve come to realize that all these things are my normal.  I have so many projects I want to do and I think I’ll do them when things get “back to normal”.  I’m emceeing a trivia night tonight for our local high school.  We’ll be doing a Mouse Races event early next month, this is my normal.  I don’t understand people who say they’re bored after they retire.

That’s about it from B&P world headquarters.  What’s going on in your world?

Warmer in St Louis than San Diego?! We almost got snow last night. It was hail but looked like snow. I was able to make a small snowman.

You hope the power lines stay up? I just heard that there are still areas on the East Coast without power from Superstorm Sandy back in October. Apparently W must still be in charge of FEMA, because no way would Clueless-In-Chief let that happen…he told us everything was under control over there months ago.

I guess no one has called him…

I had no idea. I was listening to a NYC radio station before sunup on the way to work this morning for blizzard news, and this was the first time I heard of it.

“Bammie, you’re doing a heckuva job!”

I never get bored. I often wonder how I found the time to work?

I’m so busy since I’ve been retired I have a hard time trying to take an occasional day off. This past week I switched to high-speed DSL with AT&T preparatory to getting rid of the satellite when the contract expires. I figure since I pretty much only watch The Daily Show, I might as well watch for free on Hulu. Anyway, to make a long story short, four different technicians had to come to my house, tying me up for three days. Each one fixed something, until finally the DSL was working smoothly. In the process, they disabled all the jacks in the house except for the one connected to the DSL. My phone is through the Internet with T-Mobile at Home. I’ve been playing catch-up ever since.

Sounds like you’re on the right track Barb. Yay for you! Try to find time to relax a little and enjoy your retirement.

The trivia night went very well last night.
i think everyone had a good time and I got a lot of compliments on my part in it.
I finally got what I call a good night’s sleep. I went to bed about 11 and watched TV for about an hour before falling to sleep. I didn’t get up until about 7:30 and I slept well.
Today I’m trying to decide if I want to clean my carpets (which are way overdue) or just veg out. Time will tell.
