February didn’t work that way because 2/2/2013 was Saturday.
I checked the 2012 calendar and that didn’t happen last year. Not sure how often that happens.

This happens every year, sort of. 4/4, 6/6, 8/8, 10/10, and 12/12 will all share the same day of the week. You can use this trick to know the day of the week based on a given date. You use Jan 3rd as your “anchor day” except on leap years and then you use Jan. 4th instead. For the other months use 7/11 and 11/7, 9/5 and 5/9. All these dates will fall on the same day of the week, which in 2013 is a Thursday. Practically this trick would be used if someone wanted to know what day of the week Christmas falls on this year. Since you know that 12/12 is a Thursday, and two weeks later, 12/26, would also be a Thursday, you can say with confidence that Christmas is on a Wednesday this year
This is kind of obvious. Those months have 30 days, and the months following them have 31 days. So, a total of 61 days. If you sum 2 more (4/4, 6/6, 8/8…), you end up having 63 days, which is a multiple of 7 (9*7, or 9 weeks later).
It happens every year for those months. 2/2 won’t work because february has either 28 or 29 days, and the sum won’t be a multiple of 7.
