Jeff A. sends along this photo of a mystery thing he ran across. It’s about two inches long, thin and flimsy and made of steel. He has no idea what it is. Do you?

It is a threader for needles, the thread loops around the hook and then you put that in the eye and pull the thread through
Looks like a gasket of some kind.
Maybe a hook that you use to weigh stuff at a grocery store. (between the pan and the readout thingie)
Looks like a needle threader.
A tool used to thread a needle
It’s a needle threader.
The hooks on the ends looked like some sort or threader to me and sure enough that’s what it seems to be.

That is a rare tool known as a Framus.
And, likely it is a left-handed one.
I pretty sure it’s a double J fetsser valve, it is used on the new techno-drive fittings that go on most of echo sensors that John Deer puts on the off green weed wackers that use the counter ballanced rotating line dispencers that no longer work on the K2500. Had you going there for a moment, did’nt I.
Fantastic Scott! Thanks! I won the contest!
It’s a tool used for handicapped people to help them get dressed. Did you buy that, I totally typed it with a straight face.
That actually seems like a good guess to me. I could see someone guessing a buttoning tool for someone with arthritis or something . I wonder if it would work?
Nicely done Scott.
It’s the one piece missing from all the IKEA kits.
Needle Threader

It’s a “Thingy-a-bob” mark IV I believe.
Its a spooler to wrap earbuds around so they are not tangled.
It’s a needle threader.
its a needle threader for thick thread like to do needle point
You people are SMART!!!!!
It’s one of many parts that used to keep my grandma mobile
I was wondering if anyone read any other comments or just comment???
My guess is that it is a needle threader.
Good one Scott. I’ve sewn for years and have never seen one of those thingy’s.
For the record, a lot of the comments must have been held for approval, so many of the those saying it’s a needle threader including myself didn’t see most of the other needle threader answers. Mine just happened to be the first to show until the others were approved.
Exactly!
I don’t know what the hell that is.
Thanks Scott,i was wondering the same as Bella. It all makes sense now because at the beginning i was first but now i’m not. Palm to head lol.Well done everyone.
Yeah, mine was second after yours then the next time I looked there were 20 comments with mine nearly halfway down.
That happened because there were 8 comments that were held for moderation (from first time commenters). Once approved they’re put in chronological order.
Well I can tell you with authority that it’s a needle threader.
It’s used to hold the button on my pants to the hole it’s supposed to fit in, when I’ve eaten too much over the holidays.
Going out on a limb here… not sure what it is, but maybe something to do with thread? A needle might be involved too, but we’ll probably never know. (Frist btw.)
It’s a photogragh
It’s a diphthong grabber. When you spend to much time bending over to pick up shells on the beach your swimsuit becomes a diphthong. This tool prevents needing to do those long and painful exercises to get it back out from where it dipped. The two different ends are for the two sizes most earthlings come in “pencil” thin, and gummed eraser.
