It looks like a worm style parasite that was living in a host until the host was killed. This could also be staged, the spider looks kind of fake, but I could be wrong on that one.
It is a horsehair worm. Their eggs are usually found in insects but this seems rare.
How would a worm that big fit in that spider?
Careful planning.
If Jonco had a way for us to give individual comments a +1, I would give you one now.
The strand of DNA inside of one cell in your body is 3 meters long. There are only estimates as to how many cells are inside a human body, but even the most conservative estimate of 5 trillion cells means that if you took all the DNA inside your body and laid it out flat, it would be about 9.3 trillion miles long – long enough to go from the earth to the sun and back again 50,000 times.
Try and wrap your head around THAT.
The spider ate a cricket
This is the most horrifying thing on the internet.
I saw the same thing several years ago when I stepped on a roach. I couldn’t believe how much worm eventually wriggled out. Fascinating and extremely gross.
I’m amazed. Where are all the inch worm jokes. Fellows??? Are you asleep at the wheel here???
This is where we really miss Scott. He was our ruler. By a mile.
OH!!! I just remembered!!!… “An inch worm is neither an inch long, nor is it a worm.”
Thanks Bella!!
look up HORSEHAIR WORMS on Google…
Uhh… no thanks.
Whew, not to be disappointed. Thanks DJ.
I would like to be the first to welcome our new worm overlords.
That’s just a spider with 1 bug in it’s stomach. Has no one ever read up on how many bugs we carry inside!!! Have you never checked your toilet paper after you have wiped ??? – http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_parasites_of_humans
Maybe it is a ‘Flying Spaghetti Monster’..
Anyone up for spaghetti?
Here’s a case where it was actually true to say the insecticide was putting the spider out of its misery.
