I’ve optimized the database as suggest by Big Harv and that seems to have done the trick. I’ll be slowly reactivating the plugins I deactivated during the problem period.

It’s MUCH better this morning. That almost caused a worldwide panic. Whew!
I’m glad we averted that crisis. The other worldwide crisis(es) are tolerable.
Since thumbs are unplugged I brought my own.
