A small, isolated downburst like this can be flown through in less than a minute, and I would take the opportunity to fly through them and ‘spray wash’ my plane of all the dried mosquitos and bugs that were on the windscreen and leading edges of my wings. It’s safe as long as you are not trying to land in it. Rain drops hitting at 150 knots do a really good job of cleaning things up!
…Of course I would never take passengers there because the noise is deafening!

Yes Ma’am, that link works quite nicely. Nice light show. That was either a fast moving cloud, or a very slow moving plane.
