The baseball season ended last night for the St. Louis Cardinals. The San Francisco Giants came back to win three straight games and clinch the National League championship title. They now face the Detroit Tigers in the World Series starting Wednesday night. Go Giants!
The Cardinals had an impressive season considering we lost some over-paid guy named Albert and it was the first year managing for Mike Matheney. If you told me last spring that the Cardinals would be playing in the NLCS, I would have doubted you. The Cardinals are a class team in a class city. As some of my Cub friends say, just wait until next year.

Another caption idea: Chooooooooooooooooooke!
Sorry.
And how many $8-$9 beers could you buy at Royals stadium in October, my friend?
Poor Jonco. This one has got to hurt. Guess the guy with the putter who hit the links really did know what he was doing. You know . . . whats-P-amac-U-all-J-it-O-sna-L-me-S, give me a minute his name will come to me.
Ouch!
HA! Yeah, he knew what he was doing…. Right!
At least the Cardinals made it to the postseason unlike what’s his name.
Jonco, I feel your pain. . . . really. A complete collapse playing against a team that at least half of them looked like they were drafted from the Taliban.
I was really hoping for an Orioles/Cardinals World Series — Battle of the Birds…
Guess there’s always next year!
At least I don’t have to watch those awful pinstripes duke it out for the trophy!
Giants cheated that one guy clearly hit the ball more then once totally not fair.
I find it very classy to root for the ‘other’ team when the opportunity arises. Thanks for being classy daddy-o. Nice job beating the Cards, Giants – Go get those Tigers!
AGREED< AGREED< AGREED! I live in San Jose, and I LOVE my Giants. They have nothing but the utmost respect for the Cards
At least my choice of teams to root for has been consistently tough. First the Braves, then the Nationals and now the Cardinals. I’ll be rooting for Detroit in the series. Maybe that’ll help…only if Verlander gets lost on his way to the stadium.
I think they will do well next season, Jon!
I do too. They were much better this year than most expected.
Jonco – at least you are not a Cubs fan. The Cubs are still trying to prove that 1909 was not a fluke.
And no, I am not a Cubs fan.
Well hopefully they’ll learn the term defense over the next couple of months then.
