Had me fooled for a minute, thought he was a nutter :) Brilliant! love his arguement.

  • Joel Parker

This “Reverend” is an ass. It isn’t a sin to be Black, Asian, Hispanic, etc. and discrimination based on skin color or ethnicity is wrong, but don’t confuse ethnicity with sexual preference. Homosexual behavior is exactly that; behavior, and people have a choice whether or not to engage in that behavior.

    • Sam

hahaha I can’t believe people still think like this. I bet you believe gay people should be put into therapy to “cure” them, right? Get your head out of your ass, dude.

      • Joel Parker

No, therapy won’t do it. If someone wants to be a homosexual, that’s up to them. Just don’t try to force me or others to reckon homosexual behavior normal through legislation. Homosexuality is sin, regardless of your opinion.

Judging others is a sin, regardless of your opinion. Better start wearing an asbestos suit everywhere you go.

          • Joel Parker

You are incorrect and haven’t thought through your argument. Everybody makes judgement calls in life. You judge me and my opinion when you declare that my opinion is wrong. Without the ability to judge people and actions it is impossible to determine what actions are right and which actions are wrong.

            • Jarrod

A well-spoken, coherent argument without any ignorance or flames. Nicely done! It’s rare to see someone be able to articulate themselves so well and have clean answers for the well-worn stereotypes being thrown at you.

            • chunkaway

Judging others is different than making a judgment call. Sorry, it’s not semantics, it’s a factual statement. Do a search on the phrases, and I think you’ll see where you made your mistake.

I didn’t declare that your opinion was wrong, I said that judging others is a sin (the implication is that this is based on biblical teachings). You interpreted that as me saying you were wrong. I never said that. You made a statement “Homosexuality is sin”. Obviously this is based on the bible. Judging others is a sin, as is also stated in the bible. I just used your same logic to show the fallacy in your argument.

  • chunkaway

Love all the haters giving this a negative vote. It’s only a matter of time before gays will be able to marry. Get used to it.

  • crispy

Listen all the way to the end. Brilliant.

  • TWgirl

Perfect! He didn’t just hit the nail on the head, he hit it with a nuclear missile! :)

If you, Mr. Parker, believe homosexuality is a sin and a choice, then that is your religious belief, however contrary to fact it may be. However, we have separation of church and state, and you cannot impose your religious idea of “sin” on the rest of us legally.

    • Joel Parker

You are correct and I don’t desire to impose my opinion on anyone. I only desire that people would be honest with one another. Certain behaviors are sinful. Homosexuals and the people that support their behavior only confuse the debate when they use faulty logic like that displayed in the video above to make their case. Currently, it is in vogue to try and make the case that Christianity supports homosexuality. Even a cursory reading of the Bible would refute that contention. If gays want to go to church, that’s fine, just don’t try to claim that their sex is blessed by God or is a Christian virtue.

      • Sander

You are correct. Certain behaviors ARE sinful. Being a homosexual is not one of them.

        • Jarrod

According to the Bible and Christianity, it is. Don’t try to confuse the issue with fuzzy-brained ignorance of the Bible.

          • Clair

Christianity has only been around for the past 2000 years.
Before that, it was paganism, jewish, and belief in Norse or Roman gods. Homosexuality has been prevalent LONG before Christianity. It was not a sin prior to that until organized religion made it so.
According to the bible, men are not allowed to shave and men are to keep slaves. Is this still in the norm? The bible is nothing more than a history book. Just because a large chunk of people refuse to think for themselves and would rather have a book do it for them, does not mean it is correct.

  • Sander

I didn’t really like this. It would have been more effective if the point was driven in harder. You can even tell by the audiences’ reaction that it wasn’t really poignant.

It’s akin to a really good buildup to a joke and then the punchline was delivered weakly and people don’t know if they should laugh. While this isn’t a joke, the point was muted.

  • Barb Dwigher

The trouble with “sin” is that it’s defined by your religion. If your religion is Bible-based, then maybe homosexuality is a sin. Most religions are not Bible-based – they each have their own definition of “sin” which very likely does not include homosexuality.

  • Clair

The points this guy made are 100% true.
