One would think a helicopter would make more sense for such a short hop.
Man, the hostess has to really hustle to get the drinks and peanuts served before landing…
I’ve been to the Orkney Islands. Amazing place. The water is so clear and warm and the beaches have beautiful white sand. Except for the fog, you might think you are in the Caribbean and not in the North Sea. It is where the Gulf Stream slams into Europe, which is why the water is the way it is.
If you ever get up to northern Scotland, it is so worth it. I only regret that I didn’t have time to keep going and head up to the Shetlands.
Yeah, the Shetlands.. Isn’t that where they have those cute little ponies?
I was in Scotland a month ago. Froze my butt off. I thought this might be an interesting contrast to my impressions of the place. It wasn’t. Don’t get me wrong – I liked Scotland. I just don’t know why this is is here.
I’m with Bill, wouldn’t a helicopter make more sense? Or what about a boat? I would think it would be super expensive for the gas for the plane just to go that short distance. Granted both the copter and the boat might use a bit of gas, but I would think it would be less then the plane?
What is security like?
