Trivia Tidbit: The combination “ough” can be pronounced in nine different ways. The following sentence contains them all: “A rough-coated, dough-faced, thoughtful ploughman strode through the streets of Scarborough; after falling into a slough, he coughed and hiccoughed.” That last one is the UK spelling of hiccuped.

BTW, Deborah, I mentioned to my wife that you were asking about a good book and she recommended “The Hunger Games.” She said it was Young Adult, but it was very well written. She’s normally a Jane Austin-style reader, but she’s recently gotten hooked on fantasy/Lycan/Werewolves/Dragon/etc. We had to go see Underworld 3D the other day, but at least she didn’t force me to see the Twilight Wedding a few months ago.
