Today is family day here. I think we’re going to try to catch a movie then have family over this afternoon to play cards and watch some football.

My best friend from high school visited yesterday for the first time in years. I had never realized how old he looked…
Are we doing Sunday Confessions still or have there just haven’t been any submissions?
No submissions.
Bless me Father for I have sinned…….
Well, that’s a given!
Deep freeze here in CT. Brrrr. Here is an Ad quiz, because blogging keeps me warm.
The solution is in my latest post just in case you can’t wait.
I thought I might take this chance to showcase my little blog, if you click on my name, you’ll head on over to my little bit of the blogosphere.
I initially started it as a diary of the journey my wife and I are going on for IVF, however, I am also using as a journal for my personal weight loss, as we are hoping that if I lose a (rather large) bit of weight, we might not need to go through assisted fertility.
Please feel free to pop on by with a view to have a little read, give a few words of support or just to see what I’m rattling on about. Cheers in advance…
Been one of the best weekends ever. I was able to spend time with all three sons and both grandsons, and for me…That’s what it’s all about.
@ Gary, what a great feeling that is. Cherish the memories……..I do.
Any B&P readers out there going to Coachella in April?
I was hoping to go then I saw how much the tickets cost. I didn’t give myself enough time to save up for two tickets. I have never been to one so I was clueless. Are you going??

sounds like you’re ready for the big chill.
We kinda lucked out today with only -25 and a windchill of -37. Tonight and tomorrow are suppose to be the bomb of under -40 (that’s where C. & F. meet) Even with all my precautions, I still have 3 inches of ice on the bottom of my windows. It’s freakin’ cold!
My mother and I went to help a co-worker of mine who’s house burned down about a week ago. She lost quite a bit, thankfully not everything, she and her kids were out at the time of the fire, so all lives were spared. We took her some things like kitchen wares and linens, people never think about folks needing to replace everyday things when they lose most everything they own.
Good for you, Chick and your Mom. Your friend is lucky to have you two. I went thru it a while ago with a friend of mine and he was so dispondent as I would have been if it happened to me. A bunch of us took him in, got him new clothes, furniture, housewares, etc and got him into a new place. It was only when the dust settled that he was overcome with tears. Grief for what he had lost but happiness to know that him and his dog made it out in one piece. It’s an extremely difficult time for them. Bless ya Sweetie.
Good on you, Chick! When I was younger, I suffered a home fire. I had friends who let me stay with them until I could reorganize my life. A woman I worked with and her husband came and got my scorched piano and cleaned it up and refinished it. My children got to grow up with that piano which is now in my daughter’s house and she and my grandchildren play it. The memory of these precious people who stepped up to help me will be with me all my life.
