Damn, it was only a still… I was waiting for the Spirit of St. Louis to fly thru it.

  • What a fantastic sight.

Gorgeous! I love your pics of the Arch but this is my favourite so far!

A friend of mine who now lives in North Dakota posted this picture on her Facebook page. I hadn’t seen it yet, but I don’t check my local news much except on TV early in the morning and late at night and didn’t see it mentioned there. Also, what little is known about the picture says it was from the 39th floor of a skyscraper. I wasn’t aware that we had a skyscraper with 39 floors. So I Googled it and found the One Metropolitan Square building has 42 floors. Not sure if that’s the only one with 39 floors though.
Regardless. it’s a beautiful picture. Look for it to become a header logo on B&P.

I remember when I was at the BABBQ and wondering why there are very few tall buildings in St. Louis. Is it because of the soil or some other reason? Maybe the natives are afraid of heights…

I think there’s some kind of ordinance about no buildings as high as the arch, but I’m not sure of that. But still, a 42 story building is quite tall.

This is a really nice photo.

  • Oh how I miss Missouri. It’s pics like this that are awesome and can only come out of the Showmestate.
    Thanks for sharing.
