Opera when you least expect it, when the coast is unclear, emerging from the shadows it is the undercover opera.
Conducted by Andy Jackson, with players from the Cobweb orchestra (UK). The choral singers mostly from the Sage Silver Singers.
Thanks Anton H

This always amazes me to see these people emerge out of a crowd and do something like this. These people have to feel very special to hear something like this without having to go and pay at the opera. Maybe it gets more people to go after something like this. Too bad that here in America we don’t have more of this. Loved the one from Copenhagen yesterday also.
With all the so called media entertainment crap out there, there are multitudes of people who have never been exposed to the arts. I have neighbors who once bragged they have never been inside a museum. Our financially strapped schools can’t offer the field trips to museums, concerts, and historical sites anymore. For me, those trips were introductions to a world I otherwise would never have known existed.
Taking the arts to the crowd is a wonderful idea.
You are so right St.Anne, I’m in the older generation, and I’m so glad my Mom took me to concerts when I was young. Also I was exposed to the Toledo Art Museum also by Mom. The younger generation will probably never understand the fine arts and music we have been exposed to.
That applies to more than just so-called “fine arts”. I know younger people that refuse to even watch a movie that’s older than about ten years old…unless it’s Star Wars. Most of them actually hate any film that’s black & white. It’s kind of sad to think that we are just a few generations from losing so much to cultural indifference. There was already a growing number of people that new of no music outside of top 40. Personally speaking, Neil Patrick Harris is no substitute for The Beatles, van Gough or Citizen Kane .
