“43% view porno” while the other 57% lie about it…

Gee, what is this guy getting paid to collect this information?

I’m Mormon, i have lived in Utah. “Mormon” is actually not what we like to be called, out “politically correct” term for us is LDS, or Latter-day Saints. We are taught not to look at porn, but because we are told not to, we do. We are not proud of it, but im willing to bet that 1 out of 4 mormons have looked at porn, or are addicted to it. I’m not saying that all mormons look at porn, nor am i saying that we promote it. I am just ashamed that “the mormon capital” is where the most porn is viewed. So please do not make fun of the LDS culture, and do not say that we are all sinners. Thank you.

Maybe Utah is so high because people are more honest. LOL I truly don’t believe 1 in 4 LDS view it… maybe more so with me than women (which is shown statistically. There are certainly a LOT of NON-LDS who have moved to Utah. I’m also sure that those who are addicted is WAY HIGHER than the 10% who were honest about it. I know plenty who don’t view porn, I for one don’t and it’s blocked on my pc. There are some things from time to time here on Bits & Pieces I can’t view, nor do I care. There’s no need for such smut, really. Jeez

I won’t call you a sinner. I don’t believe in the concept of sin. I’ll let the believers from one of the other multitudes of denominations of Christianity call you a sinner. It’s what they do, even though a lot of them look at porn too.

I also don’t believe porn is necessarily wrong or bad; consenting adults, and all that.

But what I have a problem with is your religion telling you not to do something that is normal and natural in moderation. What I have a problem with is how religious leaders control people, how they have made sex dirty and wrong, and how millions of people feel horrific guilt for “disobeying” an entity for which not one shred of proof exists.

Also, I have a problem being told by the people who are being controlled and brainwashed not to “make fun” of their beliefs, or call them out, or question them.

Why shouldn’t religious beliefs be questioned? They absolutely should. If I went around proclaiming the existence of pink unicorns, for which not one shred of proof exists, I’d be called crazy. How come religion gets a free pass?

I’m not asking these questions to be snarky or rude. Honestly. But I’m sure that’s how it will come across to believers, and I am not surprised.

Toss off the yoke of guilt, and live your life.
