Of course, if you were driving away from the dealership, you would see SALE in your rear view.
Dont think you would, it is more based on when driving to the left (in the picture) you would see the S first, the A second, L third and E last. Like when they paint words on the road for direction as in “one way” You want to see the word “one” first as in the left example
direction of travel

/ way \ / one \
/ one \ / way \
well crap – that didnt turn out as planned
Unless you were coming from the other direction, then it would still be backwards. Plus, it just goes against the tradional way of western reading. I think they just plain got it backwards.

in a condensed version of gb’s explanation, I will agree. I’m sure that, whoever put those signs up, did so in such a way that drivers, as they travel (in this picture, from right to left) would see the letters in progression S–A–L–E. I will say that, because the car hoods that these letters are in are so close together, it may not have the desired affect on drivers approaching the car lot.
Based on the attention that the letters got, I think it was a winner…
It is as GB Said, nothing odd there at all really.
You’re right GB. It’s all /..no, maybe \…or is it’/\|one-two\|/….oh well…whatever.
