Can’t help but notice that the Myan calendar predicted the end of the world in 2012…

…but failed to predict the end of the Myans several generations previous to that.

Derek – the Mayans did not die, they just started mixing up with other groups/tribes.

Their calendar ends in 2012, but they do/did not think the world would end in 2012.

    That´s the aztec calendar

Eliz – The Aztec calendar is derived from the Mayan calendar. The Mayan calendar runs out in December, 2012.

Ooops, it’s Mayan, not Myan ^_^

  • Thanks Brune. Corrected.

The calender DOES end in 2012, and i’m never gonna debate that, but what nobody seems to talk about is how the Mayan culture is cyclical. If the Mayans were still alive, they would get to 12/21/2012, have the biggest celebration EVAR, then restart it back to zero. They wouldn’t commit a mass suicide at the end of the celebrations, nor would the world explode. If you think about it, we do the same exact thing, just more frequently. OUR calender ends on 12/31/2009, but is the world going to end? No, we’re just going to have a celebration (New Year’s) then reset back to zero (1/1/2010).

  • Many are confused about that date. It was NOT predicting the end of the world as some think.
Another thing that bothers me about that date is the scientists and astronomers projection that at 11:11AM, GMT, the centers of the moon, earth, and sun will be in a sraight line with the center of the Milky Way galaxy. That happens every 23,000 years or so and each time it has caused a polar shift.Obviously a catastrophe as that would be could very well end the world as we know it. The earth wil still be here but most if not all of the present civilizations would be destroyed.

Individual being come into being and their lives end regardless of the complex inbuilt systems that enable them to exist within their respective lifespans. Since beings perish by virtue of prevailing forces outside their control and wish, Likewise the World will come to an End One Day regardless on whether humanbeings accept or not. This fact remains to be true.

Individual beings come into existence but later their lives end regardless of the complex inbuilt systems that enable them to exist within their respective lifespans. Since beings perish by virtue of prevailing forces that are outside their control and wish, Likewise the World/Earth will come to an End One Day regardless of whether human beings accept or not. This fact remains to be true.
