The bear was not tranquilized, he was shot to the chest with a fragmentation bullet.
To me, the key sentence in the article is:
“Police and zoo officials say there has been an outpouring of public sympathy – for the bear.”
“Tastes like chicken”…Mr Bear
Break danc’in with the bi-pedular challenged….
“Mentally unstable” – Do you think?
You know what really makes me mad about this- did they end up killing the bear- since it had a bite out of human flesh? Usually they euthanize animals who have attacked humans.
And the damn bear didn’t do a thing- just what’s expected of him.
Sorry, but I don’t believe in zoos.
heehee – I, too, believe in zoos, but remember, human life is more important than animal life–even in cases of idiots or wackos that jump in with bears.
It is sometimes hard to defend this, but it is true.
People keep getting into cages with bears and the results are always remarkably and predictably similar.
The idea of being in a confined place with an animal capable of rendering me into a meal strikes me as a very good way to commit suicide, or disprove Darwin’s theory we evolved from apes.
Apes are far too smart to get into a cage with a bear.
in the spirit of Binky the poler bear heading should read ” hero bear saves man from being eaten by worms.” go bear go
YAY BINKY!
That was in Alaska, wasn’t it, ALN?
Isn’t this one of the few times this season a Bear has held onto someone?
Tim, I’m not sure you’re the one who’s qualified to judge which life is the most important. No disrespect intended. None of us here are.
sorry about that guys
You try to take the pic-a-nic basket and Yogi gets mad. Ask Ranger Smith, right Boo-boo?
There’s got to be a joke here somewhere about the nutter “bear”-ly making it out alive…
There seems to be a trend. People, zoo, and bears…
that1chick – Your message certainly beared repeating.
yes mike anchorage zoo. Binky was great died from eating cats people would dump at the zoo. they would get int the cages at night looking for food (cats aren’t that smart) he got a bug after eating one and they could not save him. very sad.
Your message certainly beared repeating.
Heh
LOL good one Julie. I’ll try to do this only one time.(damn little netbook computer gizmo….)
