I guess that sounded wrong, I meant to say he tried to make it seem as if he were ostracised for being Muslim.

It's kind of a lose/lose situation: if they give him the death penalty, then he's a martyr, if not, well then there's not justice for those people whose lives he took, you know?
I don't buy the whole Muslim thing, there are plenty of Muslims here in our community who are upstanding citizens, good decent people contributing alot. One of our most beloved pediatricians here went to the same mosque, as did a social worker who works in the next office to ours, he was just a bad seed.

Thank you Bella, we were about a mile away from all the chaos, but we were locked down, as was the entire post. We were finally able to leave about 7, I was lucky and got out pretty quickly, alot of people didn't get off base until very late. I feel more for the families who lost a loved one on our own soil. The most unnerving part about all of it was the sound of the sirens and the emregengy warning thingys going off followed by announcements to stay inside.

this picture was run in the Killeen Daily Hearld a few years ago, that's the local paper in Killen Texas, where I live, which is right outside of Fort Hood, the largest military base. I'm sure everyone knows about it now due to the unfortunate events a few days ago. Those of us who work on base take troop support pretty serously, and make sure they feel appreciated when they come back, even if it's only their midtour.
