If cool stuff like this happened at the zoo more often, I’d go more often.
Im pissed! they should have let the lions eat the deer!! Instead they put it down and wasted it … waste of perfectly good venicen (sp)
“…a baby deer jumped into the lion enclosure and was pounced on by the tigers….” What, were the lions too busy and they out-sourced to the tigers?
LMAO to funny Mike
I’d like to say something like “natural selection takes its course” but the fact that this occured in a zoo in an extremely urban area just screws all that up.
so, I’ll just say that one of those animals probably wished for food to fall from heaven, and lo and behold…
Remember what happened to Bambi…

Good point, Geezer.
One thing that surprises me in this video are the sounds of small children. Now I’m all for education and I’m sure this is a great learning experience (let’s all sing ‘Circle of Life’ now), but do these parents really want their little ones to see a baby deer eviscerated by lions?
Now DJ, don’t upset just because Bambi got a job as a stripper.
Crispy, it just prepares them for WOW. You can never get them started to soon.
Geezer – LOL…That might have been a different Bambi. You’re thinking of the one with the happy ending.
Thanks for the flashback Mike!
I would have preferred to see the lion finish off the deer; it would have been a really stimulating experience for the animal.
That lion was not that hungry, if he was that deer would never have gotten away. Evidently the tigers werent hungry either!
Lions ≠ Tigers
DJ – that is a classic.
I think it would be cool to see the lion eat the deer. It would also teach the children that carnivores eat animals.
And if people think that is too intense for children, make sure they don’t take their children to the San Diego Wild Animal Park–I was there after they gave a couple of vultures a dead albino rabbit for breakfast. It was fun to watch until the birds went for the eyes…
The lion was working on nothing bit instinct. He wasn’t hungry. Probably had been hand-fed his whole life. After he first grabbed the deer it was almost like he looked around to expect to be yelled at be his attendant. What’d I do?
