Re: Turner remained an A-list film star leading lady until the early nineties when rheumatoid arthritis seriously restricted her activities and her movie career went into rapid decline. She was diagnosed in 1992, after suffering “unbearable” pain for about a year. By the time she was diagnosed, she “could hardly turn her head or walk, and was told she would end up in a wheelchair”.[3]
As the disease worsened and the medication greatly altered Turner’s looks, her career slid—though Turner has also blamed her age, stating “when I was forty the roles started slowing down, I started getting offers to play mothers and grandmothers…” She appeared in the low-budget House of Cards, experienced moderate success with John Waters’ Serial Mom, and had supporting roles in A Simple Wish, The Real Blonde, and Sofia Coppola’s acclaimed The Virgin Suicides.
I have the same glasses as Gere
As long as you don’t share gerbils with him.
Tom Selleck still hot in my book.
I think you mean THEN and now. Retch.
Richard Gere went to the same university as the Duuude. No joke.
Yea, not nice snubbing Kathleen Turner…. she’s been on powerful steroid medications for painful arthritis.
Those medications cause one to balloon up, its not like she’s been stuffing herself for fun.
Having had similar problems from a young age I can tell you it’s not a joking matter.
Would you point and laugh at FDR or Stephen Hawking for their withered legs???
Not classy to laugh at sick people….
TimO,
When I posted this I had no idea what her health condition is or was. I just found the pictures of these people interesting. I didn’t tag it as being funny. I tagged it with two categories: Interesting and Celebrities.
I think Kathleen still looks pretty good considering everything she’s been through. Also, I totally give her props for playing Chandler’s dad on Friends. Not many actresses will go from a sex symbol to a pre-op transexual male!
Sorry, meant “playing a pre-op transsexual male”
I’d still prok Kathleen Turner if given the chance. So she’s not built for speed anymore….neither am I.
