Man jumps off bridge to save dog

Bibi the dog was blown away by his walk, literally. The tiny Maltese-shitzu cross came off second best when gale-force winds ripped across the Melbourne pier in Australia as he was strolling on with owner Sue Drummond.

Ms Drummond watched helplessly as Bibi, who tried valiantly to doggy paddle back to Brighton Pier, was blown further into the surging water by winds of more than 100km/h.  Lucky for Bibi, Raden Soemawinata stripped down to shirt, pants and socks dived in after the terrified dog.

Mr Soemawinata, 20, was on the pier for a family ceremony to scatter his grandmother’s ashes into the Melbourne bay. “It was pretty cold and windy but it wasn’t such a hard decision to jump in, it wasn’t such a great feat,” he said.

that man got some stomach. I bet he would almost anything for a dog. People like that deserve a medal.

I can only hope I would be as gutsy as this guy in a similar situation. Jesus, it wasn’t even HIS dog!

  • Something

but thats so cute! i mean who would actually do that. I love dogs to the bottom of my heart, but he risked his life for one. Awe!!!

anyone who is asking why he took off his clothes, its quite simple really, try to go swimming with all your clothes on, its nearly immposible. NOW give yourself a dog that you have to drag up a bridge, I doubt theres many people who could do that,Im not trying to be mean, im just explaining.

Anyway, good job i say to this guy.

But for what im about to say i bet some people will get pissed at me.

I love dogs, i really do, would i risk my life for a dog, it depends on just how risky it is, now some people might call me heartless for that, but think about it this way. Those people who say they would not help, while im fine with that, i would be sad for the dead dog ,but in nature how often do you see animals risking their lives to save another, not often.

I think that human life is very valubale, but i think a dogs life is important to, would i die for a dog, no, would i die for my family, yes. Humans have more connections then other animals, our heart is our blessing and curse.

Would i have saved the dog, i would like to say yes but im not sure if in the moment i would have, and truthfully i think that hoes for most of the people who said they would save the dog probably would not have.

I love dogs and animals and i value their lives….But i value mine to
