I’ll second that Gary, and sign it in BEER (which is worth more.) For one day, ALL politicians shall be placed on a cargo ship off the coast of Somolia without power or oars. The next day they will be treated to an all expense paid trip to the bowels of Iraq so they may see where the true heros are. Politically free zone should be at the BABBQ. I’ll shut up now.

Paul – You know of course infi was referring to “honor killings”…primarily a Muslim practice. It’s hard to equate random acts of family violence with the commonly accepted and sanctioned practice by Muslims of, for example, killing a daughter because she was the victim of a rape or an abusive husband, or even chatting with a man on Facebook.

You know, if you read the news about stuff in America, fathers kill daughters here, too. Sons also kill parents, do you remember Joe and Eric Mendez, and what they did in December of `92? The kind of sickness and perversity you are directing at Muslims is the kind of stuff that the people on this planet, from Afghanistan to Zimbabwe, perpetuate on each other. That sickness crosses all genders (does that mean there are more than 2?), all religions, all races, any and every kind of combination you can come up with.

@Kate:
The gibe directed at Infi was to see if I could provoke any kind of reaction. From the time I have spent here at B&P, he seems to be predictable on how he responds to certain types of posts that Jonco (or the contributors) find. And I will say that his repsonse above I find to be invigorating, in the aspect that he could sit down and talk to me. I would look forward to that, but it would have to be over a beer. And I’ll drink a Dogfish Head 90 Minute IPA, and he will probably drink a Budweiser.
