My 4th of July weekend

We spent the weekend visiting my brother and his family in Overland Park Kansas, a suburb of Kansas City.  The last two-thirds of the film is fireworks taken from my brother’s office window in an area known as Corporate Woods.

I used 2 cameras; a little Cannon PowerShot 1100 IS and the Samsung R10 HD.  (Hence the two different formats you might notice in the video).  Running time 10:40.

Kewl!! I really enjoyed that as I missed the fireworks for Canada Day. Nice pictures and good music to match.

I love the kid parade! I believe I saw Charlottes little sister in it!

  • There was one motorcycle in the parade. The kids had a great time… and Popsicles afterwards.

Nice doc, Jonco. Are those New Balance walkers……hey, where’d that Card’s cap come from?!

Your bro’s office is in a part of JoCoKan that brought corps to the K-side what, 25 years ago? KCMO leaders asleep at the wheel.

I am going to SOME year, come there and see the one-of-a-kind gala festivities on the riverfront backed up by the inimitable Gateway Arch , the St. Louie skyline and the wide-as-an-ocean Mississippi.

Looks like Grienke MAY face Albert in the bottom of the first. The excitement builds.

  • Always a great display! Count on OP do do it right!

    My tax dollars at work!!!!

  • JohnC,
You have a keen eye. They are New Balance tennies. Even though the clouds looked threatening it didn’t rain while we were there (just overninght). I understand there was quite a bit of rain here in St. Louis over the weekend. Fair St. Louis (over the 4th) is something to be seen at least once. I’ve been about ten times over the years, but not in the last 2 or 3. This weekend will be somethnig else too, with the All Star game on Tuesday. Sherly Crow and Elvis Costello are giving a live free concert under the arch on Saturday.

I got a pair of similar New Balance SPECIFICALLY because the tongue had NO mesh liner over it. Have ya ever noticed how those mesh tongues draw dirt, get instantly dirty, and can never be cleaned, thus ruining the shoes’ looks for anything special? Like the barber. Or the dentist. Or Thanksgiving. Not retentive or anything, just got this one pair with a nice smooth tongue for special!

LOL @ JohnC. Everyone should have a spanky pair of New Balance sneakers for them special occasions.

  • Each and every day is a special occasion for me.
