As I mentioned the other night, while in Kansas City, we went to the movies and had an experience I’d never had before. The AMC Studio 30 Cinema in Overland Park had converted a few of it’s theaters to Fork & Screen theaters. I prefer to call them Fork ‘N Films. 🙂
Guests of Fork & Screen® and Cinema Suites® are able to enjoy in-theatre dining combined with the most current movies and other exciting events presented in the immersive big-screen viewing environment of an AMC® theatre. Eight auditoriums feature the Fork & Screen experience, providing our guests the opportunity to order from a diverse menu of appetizers, entrees, desserts, and premium drinks, as well as traditional theatre concessions.
Pricing for the Fork & Screen experience is $10.00 Monday through Thursday all day and Friday, Saturday and Sunday before 4:00pm, and $15.00 Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Holidays after 4:00pm. Fork & Screen guests will also receive a $5.00 voucher to be used toward their dining experience.
You sit in these large comfortable recliners with electric powered footrests. Staying awake could be a problem.
We saw the movie the Soloist. I liked it… Jamie Fox might get some Oscar buzz for his work in the film. I’m not sure it’s that good though.
Yum! How was the food? We have this here but it is called Gold class and is in the normal cinema. It is very expensive!
I had some BBQ chicken tenders and they were very good. They had a different consistency.. almost flaky like chicken.. but they tasted good.
That’s awesome!!! Ooooh..wish I could have been there too! Looks like a lot of fun 🙂
Jonco, oops, a little catsup/ketchup on your shirt.
There’s nothing better than getting filmed up on screen beans and cinema’n rolls.
That’s a really cool atmosphere. I’d like a couple of those chairs with
trays as they look really comfy. Even have a beer holder.
We have Muvoco here! It’s quite fantastic… kinda ruins movie theaters tho for ya.
Muvico*
Jamie Foxx eh? Is he telling a teenager to do drugs and a sex tape in the role?
needs a beer tap next to the seat
and a hooter girl or two
Why didn’t you tell me you were in my neighborhood. I could have used some help waterboarding my coworker then we coulda partied.
You were just a couple of miles from me.
I’ve always wanted to go there.
Glad you enjoyed it!
a few years back in Saginaw,Michigan there were a couple of “Cinema and Suds” places. good food and cold beer/drinks. they even had a DJ before the movie,at Intermission and to close the night. Once they even stopped a really long movie for 15 minutes so everyone could take a leak and stretch. Oh Yeah the best thing for me (at that time) you could smoke.
Sounds like a fork-n-good time
We have those here in Texas. They’re called Movie Taverns. You can order giant tankards of beer or mixed cocktails as well. 🙂
