The Aging of Presidents

Much has been said about the aging of the President of the United States during their terms in office.  Below are just a few examples (pictures on the left were taken their first year in office, pictures on the right were taken during their last year in office):

Ronald Reagan
Reagan1

Bill Clinton
Clinton1

George W. Bush
Bush1

And now with state of the art computer imaging software, we can look into the future and see what our next potential president will look like after his term in office:

Barack Obama
Obama1

and even his wife…..Michelle

Thanks Gary J

Michelle Im coming to join you honey, this is the big one

I’d have stopped at Barack, personally, because that’s what the joke was…but nonetheless, that made me laugh. :)

I didn’t really think them funny at all. My wife thought they were tacky. I think the suggestion that Obama will age more than Reagan, Clinton, or Bush is absurd since he is younger than any of them were. I think a University of Chicago law school lecturer, Harvard grad, would do better than the National Guard draft evader and liar would.

  • Barak will most likely be an attractive older man, but who cares. It’s funny even if it is wrong. :*

  • raphael

As Sarah said, “It’s funny even if it is wrong!”

There’s a stereotype out there that I happen to believe is true—”Black Don’t Crack!”

Black people have always aged better than white people.

I suspect Barak and Michelle will look the same either four or eight years from now! ;-)

Interestingly enough, I noticed in an election-eve interview with Barack that he’d dyed the gray out of his hair, which had been there in the previous weeks, and he’d even commented on it at that dinner with McCain saying Hillary Clinton was the “reason” he had it. Just thought that was interesting.

To the angry mob, who’s picture next to Barack’s would make it appropriately funny? Bill Cosby? no. Sammy Davis? no. Morgan Freeman? no. Don King? no. BB KIng? no. Colin Powell? no. Clarence Thomas? no. Archie Bunker in black face? no. Redd Foxx is the only one that I can think of that gives the impression of a haggard, cantankerous, old man that went through a challenging presidency and would be a complete 180 from the Barack we know today. Tacky would be showing a headstone.

  • Nigga Please

    Just like Orenthawl James.

  • Shreen,
I gave credit to where I got the post. (Someone sent it to me by email.)
Tell, me, just how was I supposed to know where it originated from?
Taking a look at your link I don’t see where MillionFace got their images from? Where? HUH? Where? Why don’t they list their original source? Or did they take those pictures themselves? HUH? Inquiring minds want to know!

Hudson…Even you must know that people in the National Guard are in the US military…I think you have your presidents mixed up…Bush did attend Harvard, but it was Bill Clinton who dodged the draft in England. (And what do either of those have to do with aging??)

  • isiah

i should say something. This is very serious. jonco keep this up and the new dictatorship will beat you down. however, i will defend your blog with my bare hands. i thought this was funny. I am sorry you liberals have no sense of humor about your messiah.

  • I thought it was funny! Those who take the job most seriously are the one who age the most. Jimmy Carter looked twenty years older after his term. I can’t see any real difference in the Reagan pics, except that he’s not smiling in the second one.

  • Derek

isiah, please don’t lump those Liberals (like myself) who laugh at stuff like this in with those who over-react. We voted the same way, but we’re different breeds.

  • infidel

    zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  • gfdsgf

    Man you’re an idiot.

  • Isiah, I voted for him. I laughed. Only 2 people in this post even complained. Neither of which went off the deep end, imo. Stop assuming all “liberals” (which, I’m not, btw) are easily offended. There are “extremists” on both ends of the political spectrum and you would do well to remember that.

  • Skippy

Obama’s hair seems to have grayed a lot from the time when he first announced he was running for President ’til the night of his acceptance speech.

  • bigdeal

For you that got upset at this. He’s going to be the President. ALL presidents are the “beneficiaries” of political humor. It comes with the turf. If you can’t take the heat, get out of the kitchen.

  • Mark

This isn’t funny at all. I couldn’t care less who is being depicted. It just isn’t very clever. Hard to believe anyone would think this hysterical. It’s just kind of stupid.

  • Buffalo Hunter

Humor is American. Loosely retold from Doris Kearns Goodwin’ book, Team of Rivals, Lincoln had a favorite joke about George Washington. After the Revolutionary War and the peace treaty with England was signed, the war hero Ethan Allen had occaision to go to England where he often experienced hectering banter and America and General Washington were particular subjects of ridicule by the Englishmen. At one point they displayed a picture of General Washington prominently in an out house where Mr. Allen was sure to see it. After a time and no mention of the picture, the Englishmen inquired if he had seen it. He replied that he had and that he thought it was an appropriate place to display the picture. They had to ask why to which he replied Nothing will make an Englishman s#%t faster than the site of General Washington.

Let’s all take a deep breath and return to a society and time when Americans were not the enemy of Americans. Shake hands with both your neighbors no matter their vote in politics.

  • bamasbestcowgirl

I don’t care who you are… it is funny. Especially Mrs. Obama.

  • Slick Willy is still smiling in his aged pic (from Monica, no doubt………and dodging the draft). Obammy may look much worse than Redd Fox after his failed four years (when blowing a gazillion tax dollars doesn’t work).

  • [...] Obama was elected into office. Some studies suggest that presidents age while in office. Just check out some pictures of presidents who have aged during their [...]
