What about the song from Red Peters? It about a dog named “Stains”. The owner would stand on his porch calling for the dog. “Come Stains”…..

Hey…I knew a dog named Dammit too. I dated the owner. On the 1st date, I pulled into the drive and a HUGE dog ran out and put his front paws on the roof of my car and showed his teeth and barked in my window. The broad stood on the front porch screaming ‘GET OVER HERE DAMMIT!’ I hollered out of the sunroof, ‘I’M TRYING TO, BUT YOU GOTTA GET THIS DOG AWAY FROM ME!’

This is what I Imagine happened on “bank street” that night:
Someone was bored and started yelling help off their balcony to see if anything would happen…. then when the cops showed up they tried to make up an explanation fast – if they didn’t they would have been charged with a misdemeanor.
OR someone actually was yelling help, but they were silenced, and someone else opened the door for the police, where they presented their cover-up story.
I seriously can’t believe a cat was named “help”. that sounds like an incredibly gullible police officer.
Hey, I recognize the address in item 4. It is in Denton, TX, right? Must be for the girls at Texas Woman’s University. Probably compliments of the guys from what was NTSU back in the day. (I’ve been away for a while and don’t know what they call it now.)
