Geez, this makes me miss those old variety shows like Dean Martin, Carol Burnett, Flip Wilson, Smothers Brothers, Sonny & Cher, Ed Sullivan…In one hour, you had the current hit music, some of the ‘old timers’, comedy, magicians etc., and the whole family could watch. There was a…wider(?) spectrum of talent. Now all we have for talent is MTV with drug-addled bands, and the usual talentless bimbos and hoes. And there’s no such thing as family-oriented comedy.
Or maybe I’m just old and don’t recognize the hordes of talented people available to families every night.
